  • 1. Twisting Issues with Deodorant Container

Occasionally, our organic deodorant will stick to the sides of the container and will not roll up. This is caused by exposure to cold or hot weather during shipping. No worries though! Just squeeze the left side and right side together. That should unstick the product. If this doesn't work, please emails us hello@NorthCoastOrgaincs.us.

  • 2. My deodorant irritated my skin (itchiness, bumps, redness, rash)

We have found that irritation to underarms can occur after use of our organic deodorant which is caused by a pH imbalance. All-natural baking-soda-based deodorant can affect the pH balance as you are applying an alkaline substance to your skin, and as a result you may end up with irritated skin. The good news is that there is an all natural and simple solution to correct this imbalance.

Mix one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar with 1 cup distilled (or well filtered) water. Before you apply our all-natural deodorant rub a small amount of this mixture all over your armpit area. Then, once your underarms are completely dry, apply our deodorant.

We are more than happy to send you 1 oz spray bottle filled with organic apple cider vinegar and organic lavender water so that your issue will clear up and if it does not we can also offer you a organic baking soda free deodorant to try. Just send us an email at hello@northcoastorganics.us

  • 3. Should the deodorant be this hard to apply?

Our organic deodorant is made from 100% natural, edible ingredients with no filler ingredients making it susceptible to variations in temperature. This means that in the winter it may be harder than usual due to the cold weather. If you’re experiencing deodorant that is too solid for application, please rub your fingers over the top of the stick a few times. This issue should not last past the first couple of applications.

  • 1. Sodium Bicarbonate aka Baking Soda

Our organic deodorant is made from all-natural ingredients and this includes the sodium bicarbonate (also known as baking soda) that you see listed on the pack of our sticks. We only use natural bicarbonate (nahcolite from Colorado) not synthetic bicarbonate (Solvay processed).

  • 2. Aluminum Free Baking Soda

Baking soda does not contain aluminum, including the baking soda we use in our deodorant. The confusion comes from the fact that baking powder may contain aluminum, but baking soda does not.

  • 1. Switching from an antiperspirant

You may notice that you sweat on the first few days or so. This is due to your pores unclogging. An antiperspirant uses aluminum (a heavy metal) to clog your pores so that your body cannot naturally sweat. Once your pores are unclogged you will notice that our deodorant keeps you dry and smelling fresh all day long.

Consistent use of deodorant, particularly antiperspirant, can actually make your sweat smellier (due to overproduction of a bad bacteria) so it could be helpful to detox your armpits before switching to our all-natural deodorant. This will help it be more effective.

Some ways to detox your armpits include wearing natural fiber shirts, drinking plenty of water, eating a healthy diet full of leafy greens and minimal amounts of fried foods, and making sure you dry off completely after showering.

You could also try taking chlorophyll and/ or probiotic supplements and applying diluted lemon juice or apple cider vinegar to your underarm area with a cotton ball after bathing.

  • 3. How do I store a natural deodorant?

Our all-natural, organic deodorant loves low humidity and a temperature range of 68-80 degrees with 72 degrees being it’s favorite. Hot showers could create bathroom conditions that will cause the top of an uncapped deodorant to melt and get moist.

It is best to keep our all-natural deodorant out of direct sunlight as it will heat up and it is best to not store your deodorant in a car during warm weather.

Our deodorant does travel well and will be okay in your dresser, desk drawer, purse, and/or gym bag. For extended storage it is okay to keep your deodorant stick in the refrigerator, just allow the deodorant to get come back up to room temperature before use.

  • 3. What do the numbers on the bottom of my deodorant stick mean?

Every stick of deodorant we make has a lot number on the bottom of the container. This sticker will reads as: Best used by MM/DD/YYYY OR SKU/MM/YY. An example would be 11/11/2018. If your sticker has a date on it that has passed it might be best to discard your deodorant and get a fresher one. You can email us at hello@NorthCoastOrgaincs.us with any questions.
